I began in 2007 as a freelance designer, focused on helping small businesses, non-profits, and churches improve their branding and marketing. In addition, I teach design and communication at Ivy Tech Community College and I'm currently on staff at Sugar Grove Church.
I married my best friend in 2004 after dating for 5 years (4 of which were long-distance). We have two young kids so we're too busy having a blast to worry about a clean house or fancy yard.
I enjoy what I do, so I typically have several personal design projects in the works. I also love to read and play games.
In no particular order:
Coffee. Choosing a font. Chick-Fil-A. Big Hero 6. The zoo. Pirate Fluxx. Barnes & Noble. Mr. Deeds. Dreary days in the Fall. Logo Design. Dogs. Hans Zimmer. Bonfires. Mario Golf. Seth Godin. Wood textures. Psych & White Collar.
A logo is a symbol: the visual representation of you or your organization. But a brand is the gut feeling someone has when they think about your company. And you can shape that response.
